Next Generation Concrete Surface (NGCS)
High-Performance Pavement Surface Treatment
NGCS (Next Generation Concrete Surface) is a next-generation pavement surface treatment technology that applies longitudinal intaglio grooving after diamond grinding (DG) on concrete pavement surfaces.
It dramatically improves smoothness, skid resistance, and noise issues on existing concrete roads, maximizing safety and convenience for road users. Developed by the U.S. FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) and validated worldwide, HEXACON was the first in Korea to introduce this technology and possesses the highest level of construction capabilities.

Process
Construction Method
NGCS is constructed in a 2-step process. After Step 1 diamond grinding, Step 2 longitudinal grooving is applied to achieve optimal surface performance.
Step 1: Diamond Grinding (DG)
Diamond grinding for micro-texture formation on the existing concrete surface. The concrete pavement is precisely cut longitudinally using diamond blades to achieve smoothness and remove surface defects.
Step 2: Longitudinal Grooving
Longitudinal grooving for intaglio surface texture formation. Grooves maximize drainage performance during wet conditions, achieving improved skid resistance and noise reduction.
